Discontent is a frequent human experience. We can find we are never satisfied with anything. The moment we achieve or acquire something, we scarcely take time to enjoy it before we want something else. What is it that prompts us to chase after things that will never bring true happiness?
Jesus told a story about a foolish rich man who tried to hoard his wealth against the uncertainty of the future. It is not that we are called to ignore our need for material security. But how do we keep from putting money and possessions in the place of God?
